Black Sociological Data Visualization

This study explores the visual history of Black progress in the United States through early and modern infographic practices. It highlights how visual data, alongside traditional narratives, has documented both oppression and achievement while shaping cultural perception. Focusing on W.E.B. Du Bois’s groundbreaking charts, the project shows how infographics advanced sociological research and contributed to representation, justice, and recognition of Black resilience.
